From The Desk Of Honorable Director
Dr. Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal
S.G.P.C., Sri Amritsar
The word education has been derived from the Latin word ‘educare’ which means ‘to nourish or to bring out’. The aim of education is to bring to fore the best that is already present in a person. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji viewed education as a manifestation of perfection already existent in man. He believed that the inbuilt perfection of a person will instinctively become noticeable when external and internal barriers were eliminated with the guidance of a proficient teacher. Even his nine divine successors made intensive efforts for the achievement of his vision thereby aiming at the development of the integrated personality of the masses.
Humans have a multifaceted personality. A sound education system will pay due emphasis to all human dimensions: intellectual, physical, moral, emotional, social and spiritual. It will make an effort to make students overcome obstacles such as unfair distribution of resources, inequalities in social, economic and political set up and in educational opportunities. A good education system does justice to its name once it makes an individual a socially useful person, one who spends his life in the service of humanity.
Dashmesh Khalsa College is one such institution that has been striving to gain excellence in imparting value-based education and knowledge. It is a moment of sheer pride to see its alumni winning acclaim not only as successful administrators, professionals and scholars but also as highly principled, disciplined, dedicated and responsible individuals.
My best wishes to all the students, teaching and non-teaching staff associated with the college for a brilliant future. May the Almighty give you the strength and wisdom to achieve your goals!
